The back speaker terminals dont take 10AWG wire hence bannana pugs/ connectors are required. "

tapped as "want it"

tapped as "love it"

Sina Irani commented on Denon AVR-5805

July 20, 2009 at 1:57 pm

"I just want to say that the AVR-5805CI is THE BEST receiver Denon has EVER made! Yes the 5308CI has the newer formats, HDMI 1.3a, and some new features not present in the 5805. But as far as sound quality goes, this is THE BEST. It sounds FAR better than the 5308CI, and it's better built. I can say this because I have 2 5805's: the 5805CI and the 5805mkII (I didn't want to ship my mkII to upgrade so I just bought a CI lol) and the 5308CI.

The ONLY set that I have found that's actually BETTER than the 5805CI are the AVP/POA Separates, which I might get as well.

But the 5805 HANDS DOWN is THE BEST sounding receiver I have EVER heard!"
