The Ariens Compact 24 is a mid-cost snowblower with a clearing width of 24". The Briggs and Stratton 205cc OHV 900 Series engine offers six forward speeds and two reverse speeds. The snow chute of the Compact 24 can throw snow up to forty feet, and the 205º Quick Turn chute control allows you to choose the direction in which you launch it. The Ariens Platinum 30 is one of two Platinum Series snowblowers (Platinum 24, Platinum 30) released as bigger and more powerful counterparts to the compact Professional Series. In particular, the Platinum 30 upgrades from its immediate peer by hosting a larger 30” housing for clearing an even wider path. Plus it features a more powerful 342cc Ariens Polar Force Engine by Briggs & Stratton. Also included is automatic traction control, a 200-degree quick turn chute, and an electric starter with a recoil backup. Note that both platinum models are almost identical to the Track Series series models, except that they have a smaller fuel capacity, and they rely on tires instead of tracks. The tires are an advantage in that turning is easier, but it’s a disadvantage in that the chances of getting stuck in ice or thick snow is higher.
