This is the shoe currently (2008) used by Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, and a bunch of others over at Man United. The upper is Teijin microfiber with zonal rings on the shoe that Nike calls S.P.P. (Swerve, Power, and Precision). High-density molded EVA sockliner with Zoom Air heel for cushion, and eVent membrane to keep feet dry. The outsole is a TPU plate with conical studs. Weighs in at 11.4 oz with PowerPulse option and 10.2 oz without.

Nike Mercurial Vapor V FG is a Lightweight Soccer Cleat. This model is designed with speed in mind of firm ground, allowing a player to grip the ground and run faster. The cleat has a Teijin Synthetic Leather upper that is lightweight but very durable. On top of the upper is a Daewoo Synthetic lace cover that increased the space for ball contact and allows for greater control. The Lotto Stadio Suprema are basic all-purpose soccer shoes. Versions are made for soft, firm and hard grounds. These are similar to the Lotto Stadio KL Plus shoes, but the EVA insole that cushions the foot throughout the run cycle isn't removable and is not given the shape of the foot. The upper is also different, now made of water-repellent Premium Plus synthetic instead of Kangaroo leather. In other ways they are similar, including having the upper stitched directly to the outsole for increased durability. A Shock-Off unit in the heel absorbs strong impacts when the foot lands. The Puntoflex device is also used to allow the foot to bend in the correct manner, and then gives an elastic return.
