Sony BDP-S350

The Sony BDP-S350 is one of two new Blu-ray players (along with the Sony BDP-S550) announced for release later in 2008 from Sony. Technically it is a Profile 1.1 player because of its support for BonusView, but does not meet the Profile 2.0 designation found in the Sony BDP-550 because of its lack of at least 256 MB of local storage. However, it will support BD-Live with a firmware update via the Ethernet port, supporting interaction with Web-content. The BDP-S350 will retail for $400 when it becomes available in Summer 2008.

Just bought this player two days ago. Bought from a Sony Style location.
I have watched 3 BD movies so far. It looks great and has an excellent easy to understand remote. Very few multiple use (e.g. scan/slow) buttons and very few abbreviations or obfuscations (e.g. opts or fwrd). Basic old style dot matrix display tells you what you need to know. Reminds me of my first Sony CD player. Just does it's job and does not try to entertain me with worthless bonus features. Not so fond of the on screen GUI for disk loading. This GUI is off center on purpose. It seems redundant since the unit auto selects the media type. The competitor was of course the PS3. Ruled out due to heat, size, noise, audio outputs, and looks.
Also Sony will offer a storage module in the future (already?) to add Profile 2.0 AFAIK.

Dear Member 'PatrynXX': I sure hope you can help me. - The out-of-sync audio/video problem with my new, factory-fresh Sony BDP-S350 blu-ray player, is driving me insane! :-( I am *so happy* you mentioned that, "Has an audio video lag tweak for discs that might be out of sync", but I can't seem to find any refrence to this is the owner's manual. At least 75% of my NEW blu-ray disc purchases are out-of A/V whack with this player, which is absolutely destroying my enjoyment of this otherwise beautiful player. (The audio *always* lags behind the video).
