Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX5
$300.00
Released July, 2010
The Pros:Fair value. Solid metal construction. Fairly high resolution 2.8" display (460.8K dots).
The Cons:Software enhanced 3D images aren't as good as the real thing, better 3D images can be captured on competing products.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX5 is one of three compact digital cameras (DSC-T99, DSC-TX9, DSC-WX5) released in summer 2010 as fresh additions to the Cyber-shot series. It trades in its peers’ underwater capability for a professional-quality pair of G lenses with a 5x optical zoom.

It however still retains the DSC-TX9’s full HD 1080i video recording and a 3D Sweep Panorama that takes information from up to 100 images and combines them to create a stereoscopic pair of frames. It also inherits Background Defocus, an HDMI output, and a plethora of other features (intelligent auto, facial recognition, etc).
