The DAV-IS50/B is a higher-end, 5.1-channel micro system, part of Sony's BRAVIA line. The tiny satellite speakers allow for flexible placement, while the large subwoofer more than compensates for their small size. The system features a slot-loading DVD player, and DVD upscaling to 1080p with an HDMI connection. An included iPod dock and Digital Media Port allow for use with iPods, Walkmans, and Bluetooth-enabled devices, although additional accessories are often required for these features, as well as for S-AIR technology, which makes possible wireless speaker configurations. The compact design and extensive feature set allow for versatility but generally compromise sound quality, reviews say.
