The Sony Ericsson S500 is a mid-range sliding handset with quad-band 2G reception. It has two different release names, the European/North American S500i, and the Chinese s500c, both with identical features except for the S500c's Chinese character inputs. The handset has a colored metallic keypad and 2.0"-diagonal 256k-color screen. It allows SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging, comes with NetFront browser, and allows subscriptions to RSS feeds. It has an mp3 player as well with track identification. Internal memory is 12MB, but this can be expanded via M2 stick up to 2GB. Also included is Bluetooth connectivity, downloadable ringtones and ringtone composer, and 2.0-megapixel digital camera with video recording. The S500 also has fairly long battery life, with up to 9 hour of talk time per charge.
