The Sony Handycam DCR-SR47 is a standard definition camcorder from Sony's 2009 lineup and is a step up from the DCR-SR45. The camcorder has a built-in 60 GB hard drive to store up to 45 hours of footage and includes HDD smart protection to prevent it from being lost if the camcored is dropped. Like it's big brothers, the DCR-SR67 and the DCR-SR87, it features hybrid movie recording to the hard drive and Memory Stick Duo media for increased flexibility. The DCR-SR47 is designed with a 2.7" touch LCD screen that rotates up to 270 degrees for multiple viewing angles. The camcorder includes a professional Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens for 60x optical and 2000x digital zoom. It utilizes advanced recording technology including Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization and face detection technology. The DCR-SR47 is available in red, blue or silver, and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
