The Sony Handycam HDR-CX520V is an HD camcorder residing in the Sony Handycam product line. The HDR-CX520V is not yet released, but can be preordered from Sony. The HDR-CX520V can record in up to 1080i AVCHD, or take 12 megapixel still images; with its 64GB of internal flash storage, it can save 3 hours and 40 minutes of video footage at that quality. In addition to the 64GB storage, the HDR-CX520V has a memory stick slot that can add up to 16GB additional storage. The user can copy footage from the memory stick to the camera and vice versa without a PC. The HDR-CX520V has an Exmor-R sensor for filming in lowlight conditions, and a digital image stabilizer to eliminate shakiness. It also has a face detection, to automatically focus on faces in both video and still mode, and Smile Shutter feature that automatically takes a picture when the subject is smiling, even while in video mode. It's brother, the Handycam HDR-CX500V, offers only 32GB storage, but all of the same features, for $200 less.
