Marketed towards consumers as an alternative to their stock buds or basic headphones, the Sony MDR-E818LP is a low priced dynamically driven earbud. At $8.99, the Fontopia branded MDR-E818LP is driven by a 16mm driver, tweaked to be especially bassy. Available at many locations for merely half their MSRP, the MDR-E818LP are truly a bottom of the barrel option. It is important to know that it is very unlikely that any 9 dollar earbud will sound good. Sony's poor warranty may also be an issue, but at only 9 dollars, such a loss may not be as hard to bear as the $299 MDR-EX700LP.
