Based on the one year old top-of-the-line MDR-EX700SL, the MDR-EX300SL is a high-end dynamically driven earbud from Sony. Based on a smaller 13.5mm driver compared to the EX700SL's 16mm version, the EX300SL adopts the same multi-layer diaphragm technology and hybrid silicon tips for a comfortable fit. A North American release date or MSRP has not been announced. The Japanese MSRP is 6,195 yen ($60 US), around half of the more advanced EX-500SL that was launched at the same time. The EX-300SL comes in blue and red.

Pros
- affordable price
- dynamic driver adds a balanced sound with good bass
- silicone, rather than rubber earplugs
- fashionable
- blocks ambient noise
- really sharp, clear and quite full sound
- doesn't need super high volume to hear well
Cons
- to get satisfactory bass, the earphones need to be jammed firmly in your ears
- constantly fall out or come loose
- do not fit into the base of your ear and actually stick out
- the lead is too short without the extension and too long with it
- will get dirty with ear wax though and will need regular cleaning to make sure that they fit smoothly without any problems
