- Proprietary sync/charge cable
- has to rebuild its library every time you start

- Glossy surface attracts fingerprints
- no support for open source audio formats (OGG or FLAC)
- No memory expansion
- no intelligent shuffle
- FM tuner reception is poor
- No podcast support
- No voice recorder
- no "sens-me" song selection
- Would have been nice to have a AC power supply come bundled, it is an optional accessory
- Does not work with premier audio book site: audible.com.
- integrated battery...bad idea, sony!
- fewer features than S-Series (backgrounds, screen savers etc)
