In the meeting for developers, analysts and press that Sony held in Japan on March 15th they announced some upcoming new features for their PSP platform
- In the fall Sony will release an EyeToy accessory. This will be used in games, as well as for videoconferencing and potentially as a digital camera.
- A GPS attachment will also be released sometime this year
- In the next firmware update for the PSP Flash support will be added to the Web browser
- The ability to run games directly from a memory stick will be included in the fall
- An official emulator for Playstation 1 games will be released
- You will be able to buy and download games from the Internet most likely through Sony's Connect service
- A core pack that does not include the extra accessories in the Value pack will be released in the US and Europe for a price of $199
