The Sony SRS-GD50iP is an iPod docking station with speakers released by Sony in September, 2009. The package consists of a main iPod docking unit, a 2.1 surround USB speaker set and a remote control. The USB speaker set is easy to setup and delivers 40 watts to the powered subwoofer and 10 watts to each of the L/R speakers. The main unit is compatible to play music off select iPod or iPhone models and will also charge the device. You can synchronize content on your iPod/iPhone with iTunes directly through USB transfer thanks to Sony's True Dock. The USB port also allows this system to be used as a 2.1 speaker system for you computer

- compact design allows it to be used in tight spots, does not distract
- can also be used as a 2.1 speakers system for a computer through USB connection
- bypasses cheaper onboard audio through digital USB connection
- allows for syncing and charging of docked iPod/iPhone (USB connection is required for syncing)
- includes remote control
Cons
- Sony logos on every grill
- small drivers = small sound, cannot reproduce the same bass / loudness as larger speakers
- cheap 1990 Creative speakers aesthetic
