The STR-DA6400ES from Sony is a top-line home theater audio-video reciever capable of 7.1 channels of audio and video in up to two rooms. The STR-DA6400ES is Elevated Standard (ES) and features dual Faroudja DCDi Cinema chips which enable standard definition content to be upscaled to 1080i in up to two rooms. Each of the model's 7 channels carries 120 watts of power, and the unit is capable of decoding a vast amount of different audio formats, includig HD audio formats, such as Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD Master Audio, and DTS-High Resolution Audio. The Sony STR-DA6400ES features an ethernet port, allowing you to stream content from a PC, and also recieve network upgrades. The unit also has dual Digital Media Ports, allowing you to hook up your Ipod or Walkman, and has a unique Quick-Click feature to allow simple, on-screen remote control usage. The STR-DA6400ES also features Bravia Sync for synchronising with compatible home theater products, and is SAT-ready for XM and Serius satellite radio.
