Sony STR-DN2010

$800.00 Released August, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Well laid out control interface, easy to work with. Manual setup allows for fine-grain control of the audio for each speaker.

The Cons:Bravia Sync doesn't work consistently with other Sony products. Runs very hot in standby mode. Automated audio calibration doesn't work well with many types of speakers.

The Sony STR-DN2010 is an Elevated Standard (ES), 7.1-channel A/V receiver released alongside the STR-DA3600ES, STR-DA4600ES, and STR-DA5600ES models. It’s essentially their budget-friendly counterpart, as it hosts a reduced price.

Product Shot 2 In fact, it’s almost identical to the STR-DA3600ES, save for the lack of automation integration via IP, RS-232 and IR controls. What it does inherit however is an Ethernet hub with DLNA streaming, 3D pass-through, multi-zoom functionality (in addition to S-AIR multi-room), Dolby/dts decoding, and standby pass-through of audio/video via any HDMI connected devices.
