Introduced in the middle of September 2008, the Vaio NS series is a small series of inexpensive 15.4" media laptops from Sony aimed at Blu-ray fans and consumers who desire Vaio brand quality without the generally high accompanying cost. Made up of two models, the VGN-NS140 and VGN-NS190 both utilize the same aging 5000-series Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the fairly recent high-definition capable Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics adapter and 250GB hard drives for storage. The lower end VGN-NS140 features 3GB of RAM and a DVD writing drive, while the higher end VGN-NS190 model features 4GB of RAM and a Blu-ray drive. Both models are available in dark blue, silver and white for $799.99 and $999.99.
