Battery life is 4.5 to 8.5 hours with a Standard Capacity Battery and 7.0 to 13.0 hours with a Large Capacity Battery. Under the hood, the VAIO comes equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 2GB RAM, and the Windows Vista operating system. An Optical Drive(DVD+-RW/+-R DL/RAM) is also standard with this machine as are handy AV buttons on front for accessing multimedia on the fly and InstantOn, which is a quick way of getting to your music/pictures/videos without having to boot up Windows. Many ports are included on the VAIO for maximum connectivity some of which include an SD card slot, Memory Stick Reader, 2 USB ports, audio out and fingerprint reader. Note: On September 4th, 2008 Sony issued a recall on all VAIO TZ Series models due to a manufacturing flaw that causes the laptop to overheat causing potential burns.
