The Sharp HT-SL50 is a 2.1 channel soundbar/subwoofer unit, designed for use with HDTVs in the thirty-two inch size class. With the soundbar's height measuring just 26mm, Sharp emphasizes the small footprint of this unit. The SC-HTB10 is a sound bar manufactured by Panasonic. It is designed to enhance the audio quality of devices such as a TV and a Blu-Ray player. The SC-HTB10 features 3D Audio pass through capability, clear-mode dialog, and advanced bamboo cone speakers. When compared to a competing product, the Philips HTS8100, the SC-HTB10 lacks certain capabilities such as DVD playback and 5.1ch audio. However, the SC-HTB10 is a far less expensive product, and is also smaller, allowing it to be placed in a room with little space, as well as increasing it's portability.

The SC-HTB10's 3D Audio pass through capability allows the sound bar to widen the stereo image (when connected to a 3D audio device), to give a more immersive experience. The clear-mode dialog option causes voices to sound more from the center of the TV display. It also increases the synchronization between audio and visuals. This allows a user to hear dialog more clearly than on a normal television. The advanced bamboo cone speakers allow the sound to become more responsive. According to Panasonic, this enables vocals to be "purer and cleaner", and dialog to be "crisper and easier to understand".

B&W Panorama

The B&W Panorama is the first soundbar developed by B&W and manages to handle a full 5.1 channels and 175 watts of Class D amplification. It makes use of digital signal processing to create a fake surround effect. Two optical digital inputs are not the only inputs available. Also included are two stereo analogue inputs and one coaxial digital input. There are two midrange drivers, two woofers, and an aluminum tweeter that makes use of B &W's Nautilus Tube housing. It has four additional drivers, for a total of nine, that are utilized in the surround L/R and front L/R channels. The B&W Panorama can stand next to a television or be mounted on the wall, and is made to fit 37" televisions.

The Canton DM 1 is a dual component, virtual-surround sound system that is made up of a two channel sound bar and an external subwoofer. A 350 watt amplifier and RDS FM tuner are housed inside the subwoofer which means you do not need an A/V receiver to operate; a remote control is included as well. Like other canton two-way sound bars, the DM 1 uses an SRS TruSurround XT audio processing algorithm which simply put is a simulation of extra audio channels. The Sherwood SB-4221i is very similar to the Sherwood SB-4221 except for the additional feature of an iPod dock. It can dock and charge an iPod and supports video and S-Video output. The Cadence CSB-F3 is a three-channel sound bar speaker designed for use in a home theater. Three channels inside the bar are left, right, center, and on both ends of the outside are small rounded tweeters. The dimensions are 43" wide by 5" deep, with a tapered shape which reduces internal standing waves for better sound quality. An accompanying unit, the CSB-R2, is a two channel sound bar that is used for the rear surround channels. Basically you would have the three channel sound bar in front of you either mounted on the wall or on top of the tv, and the two channel sound bar on the wall behind for a total of 5 channels. Frequency response for the CSB-F3 is specified at 75 Hz to 24 kHz, while the CSB-R2 has a range of 85 Hz to 22 kHz. Made for home theater, sound bars are not beneficial for listening to two-channel stereo recordings, as the multiple speaker system is designed to play usually five or more channels of movie audio in a specific 'viewing' area. A sub woofer is a good addition to most home theater speaker systems and this is no exception.

Yamaha YSP-3050

The Yamaha YSP-3050 is a soundbar with twenty-three drivers. It uses Yamaha's intelliBeam technology to automatically adjust the frequency response for whatever room the soundbar is placed in. The YSP-3050 is the exact same as the YSP-3000, except it adds HDMI video upscaling and a front mini line-in. Likewise, the YSP-3050 will also block part of the screen unless it is wall-mounted. Interestingly, some of the technology used in the YSP-3050 is borrowed from cold-war era submarines. The YSP-3050 has a built in FM tuner, as well as an XM tuner. The XM tuner has Neural Audio technology, meaning that it can receive XM radio in 5.1 surround sound. The Yamaha YSP-1100 is a digital sound projector that falls in the middle of those offered by Yamaha. This sound projector has 40 sound beam drivers and two woofers to deliver a true multi-channel surround sound for an elegant home theater system. The Intellibeam technology directs each beam precisely and optimizes the sound beam effect, frequency response and other parameters to match the room. There are several different beam modes including 5-beam mode, stereo mode, 3-beam mode and stereo + 3-beam mode. Another mode, "My Beam Mode", can be used to specifically target sound to the place that a user is sitting using the remote control to locate your position. This mode is usefull for people who are hard of hearing or to clearly hear dialogue without waking other people who are sleeping nearby. This is a perfect match for a 42" TV and has 2 component inputs and 3 composite inputs that can selected using a superimposed on-screen display menu on your TV. The Yamaha YSP-1100 is sold in silver as the YSP-1100SL and in black as the YSP-1100BL.

The Boston Acoustics P400 is the flagship model in their P series line of high performance slim theater speakers designed to provide proportionate quality and complimentary style to high-end flat panel TV setups. The industry's first model to consolidate left, center, and right channels in one space-saving unit. More versatile than its other series members- all of which were designed to accommodate different specific TV sizes- the P400 boasts one 4 1/2 inch neo magnet woofer, one 4 1/2 inch passive radiator, and one 1 inch VR aluminum dome tweeter per channel (with AMD). The simplistic but powerful design allows for easy setup, while the speakers come equipped with a wall bracket, and an optional P4TS table stand.
