The only closed-backed electrostatic headphone in the world, the Stax 4070 was originally created as a neutral headphone monitor for a TV station in Japan. Now available to be purchased by consumers, the 4070 takes its rightful place next to the Stax SR-007 as a world class headphone. Due to the fact that this is a professional monitoring headphone many listeners may find it too sterile. For more musicality look into the Stax SR-007Mk2. Sadly, due to its electrostatic nature, the Stax 4070 terminates in a 5pin pro bias connector, and requires a compatible amp system to work.
