February 19, 2008 at 4:25 am

"The 1 pane of glass actually does have a benefit. When viewing the screen from an angle there is no haloing of white letters. On the older panasonics (i.e the PX75U) 2007 model if you look at the television from an angle you can see a halo effect on white letters, or non moving logos the three layers of glass cause this and it can be rather annoying. So it is not for "aesthetic" purposes. The one pane of glass is similar to the PIONEER Elites and Kuro. The XBR4 is a Liquid Crystal television and thus should not be compared to a plasma."
