The Stitch-it kit is a great introduction to embroidery, written by veteran artist, Jenny Hart. With Jenny Hart's impressive array of credits including international exhibitions as well as collaborations with famed musicians Decemberists and Flaming Lips, it's hard to deny that this kit is essentially learning from a master.

I looooooove Jenny Hart's Stitch It Kit! I have never embroidered before in my life, but this little set provides everything you need. Her patterns are totally cool: no bonnet-wearing geese, but instead cherries, skulls, hula dancers and guitars. I have been obsessed ever since buying this kit! You can get this from Amazon or www.sublimestitching.com.

I have never really stitched before, I always thought it was very hard! I'm also a rather impatient person, but you make this sound really cool!

I know what you're saying, ruthers. Although I've always found the idea intriguing. I don't know if I'd have the patience, but I could imagine becoming obsessive about it!

I'm not into embroidery, but these patterns are amazing. I love this kind of stuff. Kudos, Jenny Hart, kudos.

KD1964, that book you are looking for might be Subversive Cross stitch by Julie Jackson - "33 designs for your surly side". You can get it on Amazon.
