Synology DS409slim

The Synology DS409slim is a four-bay network storage device that comes in a maximum 2TB capacity and offers a variety of drive configurations such as Basic, JBOD, RAID 0/1/5/6, and RAID 5+Spare. UPnP compatibility has been integrated for streaming audio and video to DNLA compatible devices such as televisions, stereo systems and consoles like Xbox and PS3 and multiple popular file formats are also supported. A host of applications such as an iTunes server and Synology's Audio Station come with the drive, the latter of which works with the(not included) direction-free remote control to allow you to freely operate it when hooked up to a set of USB speakers. The DS (Disk Station) series accepts both HDD and SSD drives and is ideal for a small office or home backup server. Disk Station Manager 2.2 software is the main operating program for the drive and is a web based platform that you access with your web browser to manage the drive contents.

Details

It can be configured to perform automatic backups of any computer on it's network as well as having an included FTP server. An eSATA connection is included as well 2 USB 2.0 ports with one in the front, as well as Gigabit LAN for connecting to a network. There is also a USB copy button on the side panel that lets you copy the contents of a USB device directly to the drive. Green LED's for each drive as well as status and LAN indicators are also found on the front panel.
