The Conduit is a first-person shooter in the style of Halo, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 or Resistance: Fall of Man – basically, fast, run-and-gun battles and stylized weapons. The game is developed by High Voltage Software and is published by Sega, to be released in NA in June 2009. This game is one of the very few games in the WII platform to be original and not conservative, in contrast to most of the Nintendo Wii non-sport games. It takes place during present day. Washington D.C. finds itself the epicenter of an extraterrestrial attack and it's up to gamers, as the secret service's Agent Ford, to discover the truth hidden behind the invasion. To do that, he'll need a variety of guns and the skills to use them. This game tries to make the most out of the Nintendo Wii hardware by utilizing the Quantom 3 engine, an engine built by High Voltage exclusively for the Wii platform. The engine allows effects such as bump mapping (more detailed surface representation that more closely resembles the details inherent in the natural world), reflection and refraction, gloss and detail mapping. Such features are usually associated with stronger game consoles such as the Play Station 3 and the Xbox 360. The game also focuses on powerful artificial intelligence.
