The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar
Be prepared to face the growing evil in the east. The forces of Mordor are mobalizing as the continue there search for the ruling ring. Chose your race(dwarf, elf, human, hobbit, and more) and explore the vast world of J.R.R Tolkien. You can customize your character in a number of ways, including his/her appearance and clothing. You can choose to adventure alone, or form you own fellowship and fight the forces of Mordor with your friends. All of the typical online aspects are there, including questing, leveling up, and a massive world with thousands of people roaming around. Player versus player (PVP) combat is where LOTRO is a little different from many online RPG's today. All of the players are on the side of good, so there are no evil players to fight. PVP combat is restricted to the Entmoors, one of the nine zones in the game. You begin by choosing one of seven classes, each with a unique role in the battle. LOTRO expands on the story of The Fellowship of the Ring and is constantly being updated with new content.

Pros
- Interesting and adventurous storyline for an MMORPG
- A friendly player-base, people usually treat you with respect and dignity
- Will never become the world's biggest MMO, but will be semi-popular and live for a long time
- Movie-like game experience
- DirectX 10 support
- Developers listen to the players and add things the players want
- Player housing with nicely landscaped neighborhoods that includes gardens for your housing
- A music system unlike any other, players can actually play their own music using instruments available inside the game. You can form entire bands and synchronize their music
Cons
- Housing, transportation and repair costs are a little too steep for the casual player
- Traveling between major points inside the game is inconvenient, sometimes restricted and expensive
