The Second Stage Turbine Blade

Ten relentless tracks that tug at each individual heartstring. Formerly known as Shabutie for six years.   Based upon the storyline of a comic by frontman Claudio Sanchez, this tells a tale of the love between the main characters Coheed and Cambria, and Coheed's plunge into madness as he transforms into the evil Monstar....complex, cryptic lyrics....the spacedragonfly provides some sort of serum.   Strange premise, but this album rocks and will grow on you the more you listen.  CRANK IT!

The first time I heare Coheed and Cambria, I was blown away by the intense guitars and overall orchestration, but was turned off by the slightly by the slightly whiny and emo-esque vocals. However, once you realize that each voice he uses is a separate character in a very complex storyline about a man that turns into "Monstar" and tries to kill his wife and kid, you will starto appreciate the vocals. This is one of the best guitar albums i have heard i a while, which keeps it heavy, but more importantly is very nicely written, and not cheesy or intented to impress of his "guitar vituoso".
