"Yes I am still a little confused from the review.  Not sure if they are strictly taking about HDMI -> HDMI or * -> HDMI.  I think this line "It only upconverts 480i/p, and only over analog." means that only 480i/p from component, s-video will be up-scaled."

I noticed. Thanks for the info. It's kind of a funny thing with receivers and the new home theater tech. The terminology, specifications, features, and jargon are excessively complicated, but the benefits are arguably only marginal.

For example, it's tough to determine from a product's specs if it will upscale to 1080p, but it turns out that it might not even matter. :)
