It does look nice, but I hear there are many problems with it. I'm also bothered by the price. If they really want to compete with the ipod, I think price (in addition to features and quality) should be a major consideration.

I agree, I was surprised they set it at such a high price point. The majority of people don't buy iPods because they're too expensive, so you would expect other companies to compete by making a product that is cheaper. It seems simple. Although, the whole iTunes proprietory format is also quite annoying so that is a selling point for these guys.

i was just wondering if anyone knew if the Gigabeat came in pink..coz all the pics seem to show a black, white and pink gigabeat... and yeh, i agree, they have no chance of people buying their product unless they are prepared to lower their prices. although gigabeat has extra qualities ipod doesnt have, the first thing people look at is price!
