The Toshiba MK**53GSX Series features five internal HDDs featuring an ATA-8 interface and a 5400RPM speed in a 2.5” frame. A direct upgrade from the SATA MK**52GSX Series, the models from the MK**53GSX boast a 5400RPM drive and 8MB data buffer with an enhanced 800Mb/s data transfer rate. In addition, the MK**53GSX offers the industries highest area density per platter, at 251.6 gigabits per square inch. Like its predecessor, the MK**53GSX models are quiet & cool in their operation, making them suitable for commercial & consumer notebook PCs, compact external add-on storage units, and a plethora of other devices. The Toshiba MK**51GSX Series HDDs retail between $200 to $400, depending on the model & retail outlet chosen.
