The Toshiba MK2035GSS is a small factor hard disk drive with a 200GB storage capacity retailing at $150. It weighs a light 98 grams and is low in power consumption compared to traditional 3.5 inch HDDs. It incorporates the advanced Serial ATA (SATA) II interface and is ATA-7 complaint, supporting transfer rates of up to 150 megabytes per second (thus being much faster than the Toshiba MK3029GACE). However, critics are not impressed by the transfer rates: In their tests, the MK2035GSS transfer rate of 75.3 MB/s finished in last place. (Fujitsu MHV2200BT is 47% better at 111 MB/s, and also has less power consumption). the MK2035GSS has perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) a technology that seems standard these days. Its rotational speed of 4200 RPM is slow relative to what's out there.
