Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q882

$1,200.00 Released June, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Speakers are powerful. Excellent graphics and wonderfully large screen.

The Cons:Large power brick. Touch panel on left side is poorly placed (tend to get brushed a lot), and makes annoyingly loud beeping noise when pressed. Boot up seems... slow.

Mannnnn23: #toshiba_qosmio_x505_q882 I had an experience of making laptops run faster...When I tried to format the disk, it ran faster than the previous. This is just my opinion...Would it be faster? Feb 25, 11

Yale: No, not if it's brand new. Formatting helps if your computer is acting slow due to crazy fragmentation of data on the hard drive (which happens after using your computer a lot with most of the hard drive utilized, lets say 60%+), or an excess number of unknown / malicious processes are running - taking ages to load up on boot and burning valuable cpu cycles from then on. A brand new laptop won't suffer from either of these, unless the manufacturer really wants the user to have a poor experience and adds a bunch of crapware. Feb 25, 11

Mannnnn23: #toshiba_qosmio_x505_q882 What do you guys mean "Hardware failures". If you're gonna format the hard disk, would the system/hardware performance increase? I'm thinking if we're gonna buy this....just gonna need it for college.... Feb 25, 11

Anonymous: Oh, the first one was returned as a lemon after finding the processor's temperature sensor was faulty. Feb 2, 11
