Just checked out the site, and you're right that it is pretty slick. However if you don't answer her question right away then the idle state has her staring directly at the screen which makes me feel like her eyes are boring into my soul judging my choices for inadequacy.

I watched half of the superbowl on a brand new Sony 42" bravia and the other half on a Toshiba 42" Regza. The standard definition on the Sony was noticeably better, but that could have been because it was coming through directv vs analog cable. The HD on the Regza looked as good if not better than the Sony. You can find much better deals on the Regza than $1800 too, I think my dad picked his up for like $1300 at ABC warehouse. The Sony has a smaller casing on the sides, and does look a little nicer sitting on a tv stand, but the Regza is way less money and has an awesome picture with great sound. Not sure you can beat it for the price.

Our "taxes gift", we bought one this spring from ABC warehouse for 1000 bucks and wouldn't buy any other. We love this TV.
