The Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5048 is a mid-range notebook laptop similar to the Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5046. The C655D-S5048 sports two very significant upgrades over the C655D-S5046, namely an AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P320 processor (as opposed to the C655D-S5046's single core AMD V Series V120 processor) and 3GB of DDR3 RAM (as opposed to 2GB).

The C655D-S5048's AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P320 processor and 3GB of DDR3 RAM provide excellent everyday performance for typical computer use and moderate multitasking. Its ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics processor provides the C655D-S5048 with the ability to play high definition media files at 720p resolution as well some light gaming performance (in conjunction with its RAM and processor). Additionally, the C655D-S5048's 6-cell lithium-ion battery provides an estimated 3.8 hours of general use per charge.

    Omar: Seems like the C655D-s5048 is the best value. Definitely choose the s5048 over the s505851, as the s5048 comes with more RAM and a better processor for essentially the same price. The s5058 seems to have a slightly better processor, but costs almost $100 more. Personally I don't think the difference in processor power is worth the extra cost. Nov 24, 10
