Toshiba Satellite M645-S4045
$730.00
Released June, 2010
The Pros:Light weight, easy to carry around. Speakers are above-average quality, reproduce sound with good clarity and lack the tinny sound common to laptop speakers. Full-sized keyboard with a comfortable design for hours of typing.
The Cons:Keyboard does not include a numeric keypad. Unit heats up fairly consistently, with the fan blowing hot air out the side. The power cord itself can get fairly hot.

Graphics are processed by a Mobile Intel HD Graphics chipset that has 64MB of memory set aside, and can borrow up to 1696MB of memory from the rest of the system when needed. While a headphone jack is built in, there are built in harman/kardon stereo speakers to handle audio. The system comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, and runs on a 2.26Ghz Intel Core i3 processor with 4GB of DDR3 memory. Permanent memory storage is handled with a 500GB hard drive that spins at 5400rpm for moderate access speeds. If video needs to be output to another display, an HDMI output is built in.
