According to Consumer Reports Fisher Price is recalling almost 1 million toys of 83 different figurines and action figures due to potential lead poisoning. The licensed figures were all painted with paint containing lead.

At high dosages lead can cause serious problems such as learning disabilities up to comas and even death. Children are particularly vulnerable due to their smaller size and thus increased concentrations of the poison.

The toys were sold in retail stores between May 2007 and August 2007 with the recall being formally issued on August 2nd 2007.
