The Trek Madone 5.1 is a mid-level professional road bike that features a US made OCLV carbon frameset and a Shimano Ultegra drivetrain. Bontrager Race wheels and tires are included and both pro and performance fit sizes are available as well as WSD(women's). This, along with higher numbered Madone series share the same high quality OCLV frame, a step up from the Madone 4.7 and 4.5 which are designed from TCT carbon, though still a strong format. To be more precise there are three grades of OCLV metal with white being the heaviest and cheapest, black in the middle and red being the lightest and most expensive(5.1 comes with black). Madone series frames are DuoTrap compatible and in this case the fork is also SpeedTrap compatible. This means you can buy dedicated sensors that fit into special inlets in the frame and use them to wirelessly transmit speed, distance and cadence information to various devices like GPS navigators.
