The TRENDnet TEW-691GR is a single band, 450Mbps wireless N router released in mid-2010. This product is designed for applications requiring large amounts of bandwidth, such as HD video streaming. Three external antennas broadcast on the 2.4GHz spectrum using Multiple In Multiple Out (MIMO) technology to increase overall wireless coverage and speed.

As a single band router, the newer 5GHz spectrum is not supported. Users will find five Gigabit Ethernet ports on the back of the router, with four available for additional LAN connections. All of the major wireless encryption protocols are supported, including WPA2. Advanced routing technologies such as QoS are supported, meaning users can prioritize gaming, internet calls and video streams to their preference. USB ports have not been integrated into the device, so printer support or sharing data on external drives is not possible.
