Does the grinding action happen when you turn it upside down? How much gets ground each time you flip it? I'm really intrigued by this product, but, as you see, I have some questions.

Yup, the grinding action happens when you turn it upside down. I'm thinking that the amount that get grinded each time depends on how long you hold it upside down. However, my mother told me that this product might have some problems. The constant flipping up & down might actually prove to be too much pressure for the ceramic grinder. So, maybe the grinder's lifespan isn't as long as we think it is. The manufacturer says that with normal use, the batteries should last up to 1 year.
