Tulip Chair

The Tulip chair was designed by Finnish-American designer Eero Saarinen in 1956. The design was originally for the Knoll company who wanted a chair with smooth lines and a modern feel. At the time, the tulip chair was renowned for its 'space-age' curves and use of materials. The base is fiberglass with an upholstered seat.

Design is wonderful, Knoll quality is terrible. All my chairs have rusted after only three years where the base connects with the seat.
