The Pioneer CDJ-1000 is an extremely popular digital turntable (2001) still utilized in most dance clubs across the world. It is engineered to handle CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs, and is considered the first CD-based turntable that accurately imitates a conventional vinyl turntable — including even the ability to chop, scratch, and screw. Nowadays, the original CDJ-1000MK1 — as it’s formally known as — has been deprecated due to the release of new and more formidable versions, such as the MK2 and MK3. The Stanton T.92 USB is a direct-drive turntable. While using the same general design and software as the Stanton T.55 USB, a number of new features have been added and a high-torque direct-drive motor is now being used. The Vestax PDX-3000Mix is a turntable built for mixing and scratching. It is similar to the Vestax PDX-3000, but uses an aluminum S shaped tone arm for improved tracking, durability, and tone. The ION IPTUSB Limited Edition is a lower mid-cost direct drive turntable. The IPTUSB Limited Edition and the slightly less expensive IPTUSB have the exact same specs, differing only in exterior design. These turntables can be used to convert music from your LPs into MP3s. This is done by using the USB port to connect to a Mac or PC. The line input jack of both turntables allows you to plug in an external music source like a tape deck, and transfer their music into MP3s, as well. The included EZ Vinyl Converter software will walk you through the steps of tranferring, no matter what music source you are using. The ION IPTUSB Limited Edition comes with an AC adapter for getting power through outlets, but you can also power this turntable with six D cell batteries, making it portable. The built-in speaker allows you to hear music from the ION IPTUSB Limited Edition no matter where you are (you can also use this speaker for monitoring your transfers). The ION IPTUSB is a low cost direct drive turntable. Thanks to the USB jack of the IPTUSB, you can connect this turntable to your Mac or PC and convert music from your LPs into MP3s. This is a feature shared with the slightly more expensive IPTUSB Limited Edition (which has the exact same specs as the IPTUSB, but with a different exterior design). The line input jack of this turntable allows you to plug in other music sources (like a tape deck) and convert their material into MP3s, as well. Whatever source you are using, the included EZ Vinyl Converter software will help to walk you through the steps of tranferring. Though an AC adapter is included for wall power, you can also power the IPTUSB with batteries (six D cells), which means that you can take it and play it anywhere. The built-in speaker also helps to make this turntable portable, and allows you to monitor your transferring. The IPTUSB can also be used for simply listening to your LPs, and has a line output for this purpose. The Gemini TT-1100USB is a belt drive turntable that can output audio to a PC or Mac via USB. This is similar to the Gemini TT-1000 in every way except for the USB connection. The ABS base and enclosure work with heavy rubber feet to eliminate external vibrations, preventing feedback from making the needle skip. The ION LP Dock is a turntable designed for the easy transfer of music from LPs to iPods. This is similar to the ION LP 2 Flash, but rather than using an SD card slot, enhanced iPod compatibility has been designed in. An iPod dock is built directly into the turntable, allowing tracks to be recorded and transfered without the use of an external computer. Alternately a USB cable can be used to connect the turntable to a PC or Mac, and while drivers aren't needed, the included software automates the conversion of the audio into MP3 format and sends it directly to iTunes. The Gemini TT-2000 is a low-cost direct drive turntable built to handle louder environments. This is nearly identical to the Gemini TT-1000, but uses a high torque direct drive system rather than a belt drive. Vibration reduction is handled through an ABS base and enclosure along with large rubber feet, which absorbs much of the vibrations in clubs. An aluminum platter and tone arm are designed to improve tracking, reducing skips. An LED indicator shows whether the motor is currently toggled on or off, allowing for quick response.
