Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo
The Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo is a small form-factor external USB soundcard. It is very similar to the step-down Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro, but adds a microphone input, and an external volume control slider. Like the Micro, it features a stereo headphone output, and a S/PDIF optical output (enabled with the included optical adapter). The Audio Advantage series of USB sound cards can be useful to 1) improve your desktop our laptop's sound quality, 2) add an optical S/PDIF connection, 3) increase the output power of your computer sound, or 4) simply to have a more convenient placement of our headphone jack. By using an external USB sound card, the digital-to-analog conversion is done outside of the computer, which significantly reduces electromagnetic interface. First released in March 2008, the Amigo has an MSRP of $39.95.
