New pro/con: this outfit has worse warantee return requirements than my other brand box potentially costing a $25 round trip if they disagree that the unit is bad, which is likely to happen since they seem to have no problem shipping units with the above problems as acceptable for use. My other brand only requires the serial number sticker from the bottom of the unit be mailed in with an explanation using a single postage stamp
and an explanation
New pro/con: I like the zoom button, it retains the proportions of the image unlike some options available on my other brand unit.
New pro/con: standby switch seems to be unreliable in powering the unit up from standby mode, and sometimes the only way to power up the unit is to unplug the power supply from the jack on the back of the box and replug it in, effectively defeating the convenience of having a remote and requiring you to get up and walk over to the box.
New pro/con: RF output is too noisy to use, unlike the other brand box I have, requiring the use of the 3 phono plug outputs.
Agreed: "standby button should be renamed "erase" button because it erases the channel programming, requiring the channels to be rescanned every time you use it, either intentionally to shut the box off, or unintentionally pressing it or thinking it will
turn the TV off."
