Uebo S400
$380.00
Released July, 2010
The Pros:Compact. Can switch RAID types and rebuild very quickly - much better than the competition. ESATA and 4 USB 2 ports for adding external drive capacity.
The Cons:Poor value - better options are available for the price. Software is compressed on the provided CD - doesn't even use a fraction of the capacity of the CD! Poorly written manual.
The Uebo S400 is a RAID-compliant, 4-bay network storage server featuring four hot-swappable drive bays for SATA I/II HDDs up to 2TB a piece. It comes with Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) level 5 technology, which critics label as the “best protection” available for digital data.

In addition to the integrated drives, the S400 also offers expandability via five USB 2.0 ports and a single eSATA interface. Plus connectivity is further enhanced by dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and support for optional WI-FI (USB adapter required). Signature though is the Uebo S400’s versatility, as it can function as a NAS or as an IP-based storage area network (SAN) device with the iSCSI protocol, which is ideal for block-level access and scalability.
