MSRP $999.00
Released August, 2008
Pros
- closed style helps isolate the listener from their world - where external noise may ruin the listening experience
- like the D-5000 can be found much cheaper than official MSRP
- more refined than the AH-D5000 - possible candidate to challenge the best of the best?
Cons
- much more expensive than the D-5000! Almost double!
- may still be poorly put together much like the AH-D5000
- Still non-suiteble for classical and acoustic music. Despite of having more tremble and providing larger stage, than AH-D5000, it's still lack of it in comparison with Audio-Technica ATH-W5000.

Pros
- comfortable circum-aural pads
- distinctive Grado aesthetic
- more refined sound than any previous Grado headphone
Cons
- very expensive
- heavier and larger than the GS1000, RS1 etc...
- arguably not as beautiful looking as the lesser RS series or GS1000
