Details

The MX-980 is an activity-based controller, making it easy for non-tech savvy people to use the remote. It works on a "WATCH" and "LISTEN" paradigm. By selecting either option (Watch or Listen) and then selecting the activity you want to switch to like a DVD, CD or radio, the remote automatically switches all the components necessary.

Programming

The MX-980 is programmed through a Windows PC and USB connection. It is recommended that a professional installer performs the programming of the remote, as the powerful options available might not be known to an at-home user. The MX-980 integrates well with Universal Remote's MSC-400, a Master controller system that can work to make your remote even more sophisticated and perform complex operations such as testing the status of a device and detecting voltage levels. Note: The MX-980 can be used well with or without the MSC-400.

Tech Support

Because this remote control is considered a professional installer remote control, the remote control programming software is not shipped with the unit. The programming software can only be obtained through an authorized retailer or they may supply a registration number that can be used at the manufactures web site to down load the software when available. Universal Remote Control Inc. will not support end user problems with programming solutions.   The authorized retailer should be able to provide the customer with custom programming at an extra cost or be able to outsource it to a professional programmer.

Universal Remote Control Inc. limited warranty is for 1year parts and labor. Any macro programming, artwork, software or other materials are NOT covered.
