The Universal Remote TX-1000 is a fully programmable, multi-purpose remote control. The TX-1000 features a large dynamic LCD touch screen, which changes with each selected component to dynamically reflect specific controls. These controls can be combined into group commands, which can be mapped to a single key. The TX-1000 is powered by four AA batteries and the LCD display is backlit for operation in the dark. The TX-1000 supports both IR (Infrared Red) and RF (Radio Frequency) signals, but requires an optional RF base station. Released February 2005, the Universal Remote TX-1000 retails at $500.
