The Super Talent SuperCrypt is a USB 3.0 flash drive announced in March 2010. All drives in the series (from 16GB to 256GB) offer ultra-fast performance speeds up to 240MB/s, along with either 128-bit ECB (SuperCrypt) or 256-bit XTS (SuperCrypt Pro) encryption. According to Super Talent, the SuperCrypt’s fast speeds will allow a user to transfer a 600MB movie in approximately 7 seconds. Keep in mind that the SuperCrypt is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 (not 1.1) ports at USB 2.0 speeds.

Kingston DataTraveler Locker

The Kingston DataTraveler Locker is a password-protected USB flash drive made with a gray metallic swivel that protects the connector. One can configure the amount of password-protected space they would like, leaving the rest as non-protected space. Once reformatted it will have two partitions, one unprotected and one password hidden, and, only accessible with the included DTEncryptor program. A 'Trusted Computer' setting allows other specified computers to bypass the password to access the hidden partition. As a final security measure if someone tries to infiltrate the hidden drive, after 10 attempts it will automatically lock down and reformat itself. Available capacities are 4GB, 8GB and 16GB and there is a program for printing a company logo on the metal swivel as well.. Windows Vista, 7 and Mac OS (10.4.x and 10.6.x) compatible, although the encryption ability is not available on a Mac.

The Corsair Flash Voyager is a USB flash drive released as a precursor to the Flash Survivor. It lacks its superior sibling’s extremely rugged enclosure, and instead relies on a durable rubber housing. It’s still supposed to handle a tremendous deal of abuse, but critics recommend the Voyager only for customers certain that their “flash drive will not see this kind of abuse.” Like its sibling, the Voyager retails in sizes up to 64GB. Plus the Voyager offers data transfer rates of up to 33MB/s read and 16MB/s write. Additional features include backwards compatibility with USB 1.1 and, more importantly, compatibility with all major operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The Kingston DataTraveler 310 is a USB flash drive released in February 2010 as an upgrade from the DataTravel 300. It too maintains a colossal capacity of 256GB, but it offers improved transfer speeds of 25MB/sec (read) and 12MB/sec (write). It also works with all major operating systems, but unlike the 300, the 310 cannot handle Windows ReadyBoost. Another improvement is the addition of a reinforced lanyard/key-ring hole, allowing users to carry the drive around their neck or attached to their wallet.
