The Telava 3G Broadband Bullet is a 3G/E-GPRS USB modem from Telava, a US-based prepaid wireless provider. The Broadband Bullet can be used on any laptop with a USB port to access the Internet at 3G speeds up to 5.75Mbps upload and 7.2Mbps download. Interested consumers have two ways of obtaining a Bullet: by rent or purchase. The MSRP is $200, but users can instead rent the device by paying a $100 up-front security deposit. 3G service costs $50 or /$60 (unlimited) per month, but E-GPRS service is also available, and at a much cheaper rate. What critics especially find appealing is that these services can be obtained without a contract. Like Wacom tablets, the Genius EasyPen offers unlimited USB power for the tablet. However, unlike its competitor, it is limited by single-AAA battery power for the pen. What critics do hail about the i405 though is its economical price, along with its myriad of features—28 programmable function buttons, the ability to play non-action games, the ability to fine edit digital photos, and the ability to even write handwritten digital notes.
