USB Heated Gloves

The perpetually cold can rest a little easier now that they've invented USB-heated gloves. Air conditioned offices, these have got your number. Each glove connects to your USB port and contains its own heating pad inside. With the power from the USB, your gloves get heated and your hands stay warm. Open-end design for finger mobility, 2 heat settings, fits with most gaming consoles as well.

I can't tell you how much I love these gloves! I used to have my own little heater under the desk but my hands were still always freezing!!

When it comes to electrified clothing, I'm always paranoid about the possibility of being electrocuted. Say you splash some water on your hands by mistake, are we talking 3rd degree burns here? Or just a bee-sting in terms of pain?

This is officially the most ridiculous application of USB technology.

Seriously? You're not allowed to have an opinion unless you've experienced blue fingers and frigid cold hands.

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. I got these gloves to keep my hands from getting too stiff while working on the computer in the cold.

The heat they produce is nice, not enough to burn you but enough to warm your hand up. The problem is that the heating element is in the top flap of the glove which can be folded down over the fingers. When it is up (so your fingers are exposed for typing) it does not make good contact with your hand to transfer heat. When down, you can't type or use the mouse.

The synthetic material the gloves are made from is like wool, and leaves a lot of fibres behind on your keyboard that need to be cleaned up. It would have been better to use Thinsulate or similar, or just silk with heating wires part way down the fingers.

All in all, they so have some effect but are badly designed.
