Vudu Box is a set-top box for watching full-length movies using the Internet. Connect Vudu to your television and to the Internet with its built-in Ethernet port, and you can rent or buy full-length movies from the Vudu in either DVD or HD quality. The unit itself sells for $299 and there are no monthly service fees; movies can be rented (available for 24hrs) for around $1-4 and bought for around $5-25. In October 2008, Vudu Inc. announced HDX, a full HD video format available throuh the the Vudu service. You can also connect your Vudu to your Netflix account and stream via their service as well. Vudu includes full-connectivity to your home theater with component and HDMI v1.1 outputs along with digital optical and digital coaxial audio with 5.1 surround sound. Installation is simple, requiring you to connect Vudu to your Internet enabled home network, and to your home theater in a similar fashion as a DVD player, cable box, or gaming console. Holiday pricing has Vudu available for a reduced price of $99 with a mandatory $50 movie credit.
